Common questions

Is GetCatch free?

Yes. GetCatch is a free download on the App Store for iPhone and iPad running iOS 17 or later.

Do I need an account?

No account is needed to browse the map, the community feed, the guides or the bite forecast. To log your own catches, sign in with Apple.

How is the bite forecast calculated?

From the hourly weather forecast for the location you choose, adjusted for species, season and time of day. The method is explained in full in how the bite forecast works.

Why is my catch not visible yet?

New catches are reviewed before they appear in the community feed and on the map. This usually happens quickly, but can take longer at busy times.

Who can see my catches?

Approved catches are public, including their location on the map. If you prefer not to reveal an exact spot, drop the pin at a general location when you log the catch.

How do I report a post or block a user?

Open the post and use the Report option, or use Block user to hide that person's posts from your feed and map. Reports are reviewed promptly.

How do I delete my account?

In the app, open your profile and choose Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account and data. See the privacy policy for details.

Is GetCatch available on Android?

Not at the moment. GetCatch is currently available for iPhone and iPad.
